- Lock down a contract with Rockwall for the 5.5M gallons per day they have committed and explore additional storage methods to build a safety stock for the City
- Implement landscape ordinances for new construction and state of the art water monitoring capabilities
- We need a comprehensive roadway development plan to manage the increase in traffic through Heath
- Continued investment in Police, Fire and Emergency Service coverage
- Improve fire hydrant capacity in under served neighborhoods
- Increased Park & Trail connectivity with an adequate budget and maintenance plan to support this effort
- Partner with RISD to explore projected capacity needs in the form of new schools, school placement and ways that the City and School District can work together
- No high density development
- Dedicated effort for open space preservation
- Impose a cap per year on permits issued until water situation is addressed
- Increased trail connectivity and park development
- Attract unique, highly desirable businesses to Heath to increase sales tax revenue and reduce the tax base burden on Heath homeowners
- Action the downtown overlay development plan
- Target & recruit complimentary businesses for our existing business owners
- Offer partnership incentives for businesses to establish themselves in Heath
- Conduct Town Hall meetings on major issues impacting the City
- Explore term limits for City Council, Mayoral and Committee Chair positions
- Create annual goals and accountability measurements
- Quarterly reporting on any litigation where the City is using taxpayer money to support lawsuits
- Attract and retain top talent throughout the City administration

Scott and Lynae Dodson are residents of Buffalo Creek and have raised six adult children. Recently becoming grandparents to their first grandchild, the Dodsons are deeply involved in their local community.
Scott serves in various leadership roles, including Vice President of the Heath Economic Development Corporation, Vice President of the Rockwall County Republican Men’s Club, and Precinct 3C Chairperson for Rockwall County GOP.
Additionally, he has been involved in initiatives such as the Heath, TX Comprehensive Plan and has held past treasurer positions in organizations including Lonestar CASA and the Rockwall County Republican Men’s Club. Committed to Lakepointe Church, the Dodsons are passionate about preserving the rural appeal of Heath amidst its growth challenges, emphasizing responsible growth, infrastructure development, and ensuring top-notch public services.
In addition to his community involvement, Scott Dodson is the CEO of Compression Works, Inc., a medical device company specializing in life-saving technologies. With over 30 years of experience in leading medical device companies to success, Scott’s professional background spans various markets across the world, including Silicon Valley, Boston, Australia, and Italy.
Raised in Evansville, Indiana, Scott pursued his education at Indiana University and earned his MBA from Columbia University, followed by post-graduate studies at Babson College. With a wealth of experience and a dedication to serving his community, Scott expresses humility and readiness to leverage his life experiences to benefit the citizens of Heath, aiming to create a city enjoyed for generations to come.
